About Us

In 2001, The Harry A. Koch Co. (Koch) was asked by the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands (NAM) to perform a feasibility study focused on the creation of a health care purchasing group for its members. There was strong demand for a program that could bring pricing stability and purchasing-power to local nonprofits of all sizes.

With the exhaustive research conducted by Koch and the unwavering support of the NAM leadership committee, the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands Medical Trust was established in 2003. From day one, member organizations enjoyed the following:

Today, we are proud to serve over 25 nonprofit agencies and their collective membership of 2,000 lives. In addition to medical insurance, members can purchase dental, vision, life and disability insurance within the NAM Trust.

The implementation of the Affordable Care Act has resulted in sweeping changes to the health insurance industry. To ensure that our nonprofit clients were positioned to capitalize on these changes, the NAM Trust is evolving in the way employee benefits will be financed as well as delivered to members.

As a result, we are proud to introduce NAM Benefit Connection. This new structure preserves the founding principles of the NAM Trust; purchasing power, reduced administrative costs, pooling of claims, and plan flexibility. With the aid of cutting edge technology, benefits are now able to be administered and communicated more efficiently than ever. Employees will have more choices and the decision support to navigate through those choices.
